You may be scratching your head wondering why we’re talking about booking Christmas train travel now. Halloween hasn’t even happened yet.
Fair point.
But Christmas train tickets are starting to go on sale, so if you know where you’re heading, it might pay to get ahead.
Can I book now?
It depends on your journey.
Train companies release tickets at different times, and Christmas timetables can take a little longer to confirm because of engineering works and timetable changes.
If your journey isn’t showing yet, it may simply not be on sale.

Travelling over Christmas?
Expect things to be a little different.
Many trains finish earlier on Christmas Eve, there are no National Rail services on Christmas Day and most operators won’t run on Boxing Day. Engineering works are planned too.
Plans can change, so check again before you travel.
