Key details are:

General Validity

  • Day return journey from selected origin stations to selected destinations. Origin stations include Paddington and others in the east of our network, but also extend as far as Pewsey, Westbury, Castle Cary, Swindon, Chippenham, Kemble and Stroud. Destinations are selected stations further west including some stations in Wales and Devon.
  • Valid on GWR services only
  • All travel must be completed on the same day

Dates / Days / Times Valid

  • Valid Monday to Friday only
  • Valid for outward travel from start of service. Latest outward validity varies by station as this product is intended to be valid to travel on, or connect into, services leaving Paddington before 10:15.
  • Not valid at any time Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays
  • Purchase and travel dates are Monday 13 July to Friday 4 September inclusive

Group Size and Price

  • The group must include at least one child
  • Minimum group size is one adult and one child
  • Maximum group size is two adults and four children
  • Price will be either £49 or £59 for the whole group

Railcard Discount

  • Family Railcard price will be £10 less (£39 or £49 for the whole group)
  • No other Railcard discounts apply

Booking Requirements

  • The outward journey must be booked before travel (similar to Advance Purchase on the Day tickets)
  • The outward journey must be booked on a specific train (Availability will be on most services from start of service. Latest outward validity varies by station as this product is intended to be valid to travel on, or connect into, services leaving Paddington before 10:15.
  • The return journey can be on any train
  • The return journey does not need to be booked in advance and reservations are not needed
  • Available online and from ticket offices
  • Available as barcode or CCST / Paper tickets

Discounts

This is a flat rate, fixed price per family group. Individual Child tickets are not available.

Family Railcard holders only will receive a further £10 discount per booking. No other railcard discounts apply.

Reservations are required on the outward journey only by this ticket type, but may still be forced by a selected return timetabled mandatory-reservations train service.
