PSF Season Ticket (First Class)

Season Tickets allow unlimited travel between two stations for a specified period of time. Season Tickets are usually available for periods of seven days or for any period from one month to one year.

Season Tickets offer great savings for regular travelers and where savings can usually be made even if  travelling fewer than 5 days a week. An Annual Season ticket gives offers 52 weeks' travel for the price of 40 already-discounted Weekly Season Tickets.

Availability

Season Tickets can be bought at any staffed National Rail ticket office or on the website from the appropriate Train Company. 7-Day Season Tickets can also be purchased at most self-service ticket machines. Season Tickets can also be bought over the telephone from some retailers.

To prevent any misuse, Season Tickets and Travelcards are not generally issued in advance, although Seasons on Smartcard and Travelcard Season on Oyster, can be issued up to 30 days in advance of the first day of validity.

To minimise inconvenience to customers, the following rules apply to Season Tickets issued on printed stock:

A Ticket may be issued:

7-Day Seasons &

Travelcards

  •  on the start date;
  • if the start date is a Monday (or a Tuesday after a Bank Holiday), the Ticket may be issued from 06:00 on the previous Sunday.

Period Seasons & Travelcards

(including Annual & Gold Cards)

  • if the start date is a SaturdaySunday or Monday (also Tuesday after a Bank Holiday), the Ticket may be issued from 12:00 (noon) on the previous Friday;
  • if the start date is another day, the Ticket may be issued after 12:00 (noon) on the previous day.
  • over the Christmas and New Year holiday period these rules are generally relaxed. Please refer to local TOC instructions.

RENEWALS

Where the current ticket is SURRENDERED* with NO BREAK OF CONTINUITY

A Ticket may be issued:

7-Day Seasons & Travelcards

  • if the start date is a Sunday or Monday (or Tuesday after a Bank Holiday), the ticket may be issued from 12:00 (noon) on the previous Friday.
  • if the start date is another day, the ticket may be issued after 12:00 (noon) on the previous day.

Period Seasons & Travelcards (including Annual & Gold Cards)

  •  the Ticket may be issued any time up to seven days in advance.
  • over the Christmas and New Year holiday period these rules are generally relaxed. Please refer to local TOC instructions.

Break of Journey

Outbound:

Break of Journey may not be allowed on all permitted routes. Restrictions will be advised at point of purchase.


Inbound:

Change of Journey

If the Season Ticket held does not cover the journey in full, or has been left at home, or is for Standard class accommodation when travelling in First Class, the appropriate additional ticket must be purchased before travel.

Validity and reservation requirements

Reservations are not required by this ticket type, but may still be forced by a selected timetabled mandatory-reservations train service.
